Gallecs, only separated from the town of Mollet by a bridge, is a rural area measuring around 700 hectares which still preserves crop fields, forests and working country estates.
The core of Gallecs is located around Santa Maria, a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. Near the church is an agro-shop purveying premium quality homemade food products manufactured in the county; its unique feature is that the produce, especially vegetables, is all grown and gathered in the fields around it.
The area also offers a variety of routes for walking or bicycling which pass by a wetlands area.
